Spring Flowers!

I'm back after almost a full month. After a month in the dumps, doing my nails was the last thing I wanted to do. But today is my first day of spring break, and one of the first days of sunshine in forever (seriously- it snowed yesterday- and the day before) so I forced myself to spend some time here. And I'm quite pleased with the results!

Goldfish Scales

Man I went a little buck wild this past week. I used an amazon giftcard to buy the entire China Glaze Electropop collection, and if that weren't enough, I went to Ulta and bought like 10 more polishes (most on clearance). It was great!

One of my Ulta purchases was Sally Hansen's Shiny Penny. I figured I might be able to use it for stamping. But then I had a better idea... Layer Shine of the Times on top and see what happened. Can I just say.... it was GLORIOUS. Subtle, but dazzling under the right conditions. It reminded me of a goldfish, and I couldn't stop staring at them. One of my students told me I looked like I had flecks of gold on my fingernails. I take that as a mark of approval!

Manicure for Mini Nubbin Nails

I love black nails. Love them! I'm very glad they are in style right now. However, and this is just my opinion- I think they look pretty witchy when they are on long nails. Luckily (or not!!) for me, my nails are currently itsy bitsy little nubs. Blame the Praxis! And blame my fiance's car. I tried to shut the trunk in the rain the other day and broke two of my nails. I didn't even know nails this short could break.

Anyway- tiny little nails means YAY! Black nail polish! So I hooked it up with some black, and one of the polishes I got in my stocking, topped with a matte topcoat. Looks pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

Another Freehand Floral Mani!

I really loved a few of the floral manis I did previously (here and here) and I'm not opposed to tooting my own horn, so I did another! I tried out a lovely pink color I got from a friend for Christmas. It's really bright and gorgeous, so I went with darker grey and black for the roses. And sprinkled in some little white accent dots and glitter for fun and variety!

Also notice my poor little nubbins? :( I had a super turbulent flight on the way home, combined with returning to internship, wedding planning, and the Praxis II that I'm taking on Saturday.... and yowza, my nails have had it!
