Star Wars nails for PAX

This weekend I was up in Seattle for PAX prime.  Basically, it's a gaming expo.  I decided to do some Star Wars nails for the occasion, and this was the result:

Bonus hipster filtered camera phone picture!

I loved these.  I thought they came out really cute, even on my "bad" hand.

Blue and Purple Stamping

I got the new Bundle Monster plates a few weeks ago and just now got around to trying them out.  They look great, and I love the new wider designs.

Here is a simple design using Sally Hansen Pronto Purple over Essie's Borrowed & Blue, with Revlon Metallic on the accent nail.  Got all that???

Priti NYC- Black Prince Orchid

Black Prince Orchid is one of the five nail polishes I received in my Priti NYC haul.

Black Prince Orchid, second from left

Black Prince Orchid is a deep burgundy purple color that has a little bit of a jelly look goin' on.  I think it will be really great for fall.  Check out how the color varies in these pictures!

Priti NYC- Lace Aloe

Lace Aloe is one of the five nail polishes I received in my Priti NYC haul.

Lace Aloe, first on the left

Lace Aloe is.... not what I was expecting.  It's green with silver flecks, and it sort of varies between a deep forest green and a lighter, more aloe colored green (fitting name!).  It has a hint of duochrome going on that I was unable to capture with my camera.  I really can't decide if I like it or not.  What do you think of it?

Priti NYC- Union Jack

Union Jack is one of the five nail polishes I received in my Priti NYC haul.

Union Jack, second from right

Union Jack is an amazing red glitter, micro and hexagonal, set in a clear base.  It is absolutely stunning, looks fantastic with just one coat, and will be fabulous for Christmas.  Here it is on black (pointer), white (middle), two coats (ring), and one coat (pinky), and in the following photos, Rabbit Tracks.

TJ Maxx Haul- great deals on Essie!

Yesterday I took my pooch to the vet, and while they were keeping her I had half an hour to kill.  I headed over to TJ Maxx, and what did I discover?  The motherload!

Say hi to my cat Jack everybody

Everything in that picture was 4 dollars!  Sorry the photos are poor quality, but I think you get the idea!

Looking For Love, Shop Till I Drop, Dune Road, Minimalistic

I had a great experience with ELF polishes before,
so I happily snapped up these two sets.

Glitter!!

Always looking for a nice french mani

So there you go.  You might wanna go hit up your local TJ Maxx if you can- 4 dollars for Essie is a pretty great find if I do say so myself.

Let me know in the comments if you find anything!!!

Priti NYC- Darjeeling

Darjeeling is one of the five nail polishes I received in my Priti NYC haul.

Darjeeling, last on the right

Oooooo I am in LOVE with this color.  Darjeeling is the absolute most perfect dusty rose pink that I've ever used.  I love it on my skin, and I am not usually a pink person, but I adore this.  It's my top two favorites from this haul!  (the other being Rabbit Tracks, posted yesterday)

Priti NYC- Rabbit Tracks

Rabbit Tracks is one of the five nail polishes I received in my Priti NYC haul.

Rabbit Tracks, right in the middle

Rabbit Tracks is definitely a winner!  It is this gorgeous greyish blue-green.  I think it will be perfect for fall.  It's lovely in these photos, but it's definitely better in person.  It's one of my top two favorites from this haul.

Nail Mail- Priti NYC

A little bit ago there was a pretty great deal on ideeli- $25 for a $50 voucher at Priti NYC.  I ended up getting 5 different polishes- four in a "kit" (which I designed) and one extra to bump my total up to $50.  Then all I had to do was pay for shipping!

Well they came in the mail today, and can I just start right out and show you how ADORABLE the packaging for the kit was?

Seriously, how cute is this?

Tied with a bow and everything!  So here are some previews of the colors... I've already swatched them and put them together in their own blog entries and so I don't swamp you, I'm going to schedule them to post one a day for the next five days.

Seriously, adorable

Nubar 2010 (Pic Spam)

I have been in love with these incandescent duchrome-y glitter flake polishes since I first discovered there were people that blogged about nail polish (who knew??), and I finally got my hands on a bottle of Nubar 2010.  My recent purchases have all been huge huge winners- first China Glaze Peachy Keen, then Essie's Borrowed & Blue, and now this.  Top favorite polishes for sure!!!

Here is is, two coats on top of Sally Hansen's Night Flight.

Inside, florescent bathroom lighting

My hand looks really funky here,
let's blame on trying to get a good angle

Essie Borrowed & Blue- the PERFECT pastel/baby/pale blue

GUYS!  I found it.  A few months ago I asked about pastel blues.  This is something that's been on my list for AGES.  I never did buy the nubar that I was leaning towards, but just the other day I redeemed a couple of amazon giftcards (thanks swagbucks!) and threw Essie's Borrowed & Blue into my cart, thinking what the heck, it looks pretty enough.

PRETTY ENOUGH is an understatement.  This is everything I wanted!  It is so gorgeous, AND it went on opaque in one coat.  I wish I had known that or I would've been a little more careful and used a ridge filler base coat, but I know for next time.

Unfortunately, like I mentioned the other day, all my pictures are coming out woefully pathetic, so I only have one good one to share with you.

I really can't explain how pleased I am with this color.  It's exactly what I wanted, and I'm psyched to have found it.

Nicole by OPI- Half of the Gossip Girl Collection

So the other day I was wandering through Marshall's and spotted, down on a very very bottom shelf, hidden sort of in the back, a handful of these Nicole by OPI double color packs.

Try one on your fingers and one on your toes!

I grabbed three packs and then decided they were all too similar- lots of dark tealy blues- so I went ahead and did some minor surgery and swapped a couple of the colors to create some double packs of colors that I thought I'd like.  It wasn't until I got home and looked them up online that I realized I had given myself 3/4 of the Gossip Girl pack... and had replaced the last one with a matte teal.  Whoops!  I now have an incomplete collection but that's okay.

I'm sure everyone knows by now that the real winners of this collection are Too Rich For You (blackened teal, shimmery, duo-chromey) and Nicole...Spotted! (teal based hexagonal/micro glitter).  Luckily, those are two of my three!  I swatched all of the colors and fell in love with the pairing... So I went ahead and did an entire manicure instead of one finger.  Voila!

These pictures are terrible.  I don't know why, but lately all of my pictures are looking just awful, and I'm not realizing it until 3 manicures later.  Oh well, I think you kind of get the idea.

And Too Rich For You by itself?  Glad you asked.

Ugh, just look at it.  Gorgeous.
