Summer Pastel Arrow/Chevron Manicure

I got tired of doing dots, so I decided to go with the latest trend- chevron stripes!  Except that this one doesn't repeat the pattern, so does that just make it a pointy stripe?  Or an arrow?  Can a chevron stripe be singular?

Yea I freehanded this and it's pretty obvious, huh?

5 Minute Mani: Simple Stripes (creamsicle again!)

Something about a pastel-ish orange paired with white is just so, so summery to me.  It has to be the association with Creamsicles.  Anyway, here's a super quick mani that I wore to a baseball game last night- got complimented by the girl at the counter when I went and got some nachos, so you know they're good ;)

Another Gradient- Creamsicle

I loved the last one so much that I did another one!  I asked the fiance "brights or pastels?" and he said pastels, so I chose some lighter-but still summery- colors.  My dad said it looks like a creamsicle, and the waitress when we had dinner said she loved my nails and asked to see them- so I think I would call this a success!  Officially in love with the idea of gradient manicures now.

Pastel Glitter- 2 Weeks of China Glaze

Whoops, this post is late!  I had some parent meetings so I decided to go fairly subtle.  I just found these gorgeous Wet n Wild glitters at the store and scooped up a couple so I decided to put one over China Glaze Oxygen!  I had a hard time capturing the gorgeousness of the glitter but I think you get the idea!!

As a side note, my nails feel so nice!  I don't feel that they're growing particularly quickly, but they look nice!  Too bad I ruined my experiment by biting them all off when thinking about graduation.

Spring Flowers!

I'm back after almost a full month.  After a month in the dumps, doing my nails was the last thing I wanted to do. But today is my first day of spring break, and one of the first days of sunshine in forever (seriously- it snowed yesterday- and the day before) so I forced myself to spend some time here.  And I'm quite pleased with the results!

As you can see, I used this as an opportunity to break out and check out my new China Glazes from the electropop collection... which I got back in January!  Yeesh.

Essie Borrowed & Blue- the PERFECT pastel/baby/pale blue

GUYS!  I found it.  A few months ago I asked about pastel blues.  This is something that's been on my list for AGES.  I never did buy the nubar that I was leaning towards, but just the other day I redeemed a couple of amazon giftcards (thanks swagbucks!) and threw Essie's Borrowed & Blue into my cart, thinking what the heck, it looks pretty enough.

PRETTY ENOUGH is an understatement.  This is everything I wanted!  It is so gorgeous, AND it went on opaque in one coat.  I wish I had known that or I would've been a little more careful and used a ridge filler base coat, but I know for next time.

Unfortunately, like I mentioned the other day, all my pictures are coming out woefully pathetic, so I only have one good one to share with you.

I really can't explain how pleased I am with this color.  It's exactly what I wanted, and I'm psyched to have found it.

Swatch: Sally Hansen Hard Lemonade

Previous to this, I only had three yellows in my collection!  I like this one- it's more pastel than some of the other yellows I've had my eye on, but it's lovely in its own way.  Typical problems I've had with most yellows- streaky, needs like 3 coats to opaque, etc.  But still!  Pretty.

Lovely, right?!

Chalkboard Nails

I had this brilliant idea.  I've been wanting to do a mani with crackle tips, and I've been wanting to do a mani with matte pastels, so I thought "why not combine the two!"  Well... I tried it.  And I kind of don't like it at all.  The pastel green with the matte topcoat reminds me of sidewalk chalk.  And I guess I'm just really bad at doing tips or something, but I also kind of hate the crackle tips on me... on everyone else they look so awesome!  Maybe if I'd been able to find my silver pen and do a line in silver like I wanted to, rather in black...

But anyway, here it is!
