Goldfish Scales

Man I went a little buck wild this past week.  I used an amazon giftcard to buy the entire China Glaze Electropop collection, and if that weren't enough, I went to Ulta and bought like 10 more polishes (most on clearance).  It was great!

One of my Ulta purchases was Sally Hansen's Shiny Penny.  I figured I might be able to use it for stamping.  But then I had a better idea... Layer Shine of the Times on top and see what happened.  Can I just say.... it was GLORIOUS.  Subtle, but dazzling under the right conditions.  It reminded me of a goldfish, and I couldn't stop staring at them.  One of my students told me I looked like I had flecks of gold on my fingernails.  I take that as a mark of approval!

What do you think?  Goldfish scales?  Does this look meet your stamp of approval?

Swatch: Essie Shine of the Times (Pic Heavy)

I think I know why you're here.  But first let me do my swatch spiel.

This is Essie's Shine of the Times, which is part of their new Luxe Effects collection and the much sought after flakie.  And it does not disappoint!  It is a gorgeous iridescent rainbow flakie that reflects all sorts of pretty colors.  It's a dupe for Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure (which I don't have) and Nubar 2010 (which I do!)  Check it out!!!

Here it is layered over Revlon's Hot for Chocolate.  This is one layer of Shine of the Times and SV topcoat.

Ugggggggggh I love it.

Nubar 2010 (Pic Spam)

I have been in love with these incandescent duchrome-y glitter flake polishes since I first discovered there were people that blogged about nail polish (who knew??), and I finally got my hands on a bottle of Nubar 2010.  My recent purchases have all been huge huge winners- first China Glaze Peachy Keen, then Essie's Borrowed & Blue, and now this.  Top favorite polishes for sure!!!

Here is is, two coats on top of Sally Hansen's Night Flight.

Inside, florescent bathroom lighting

My hand looks really funky here,
let's blame on trying to get a good angle
